It is reported that Taiwanese steel plate dealers may hike the prices further by TWD 500 per tonne this week after the distributors increased the steel plate successfully by TWD 500 per tonne in two weeks ago. It is known that distributors raised the steel plate quotes by TWD 500 per tonne in two weeks ago and the prices were accepted by clients last week as Chinese steel mills hiked the export quotes by USD 20 per tonne.

Furthermore, some steel plate dealers are seeking to raise the quotes by another TWD 500 per tonne this week, driven by Chinese steel mills' price hike. However, industry sources indicated that the demand increased recently due to restock instead of real demand from end users.

Thus, it's predicted that the steel prices would remain at TWD 23,000 to TWD 23,500 per tonne in Taiwanese market this week.
